Finally, the last instalment of the Letters From a Porcupine collection by Eat. Sleep. Polish. I must admit, I took too long to get all these pictures posted up on the blog. I blame Cat, really, because she distracted me with so many other pretty polishes recently that I just couldn’t focus. This is Mouthful of Cavities, which I actually wore alongside Toes Across the Floor but I wanted it to have it’s own post where I was wearing it on all my nails. So… voila.
When Eat. Sleep. Polish. released the Letters From a Porcupine collection, I admit I was a bit reluctant to purchase both blues that were offered. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love blue polish but I always find myself reaching for something else to wear on my nails. But, trusting Cat and her genius, I added both to my cart and awaited their delivery.
No Rain is the brighter blue in the collection, a pretty linear holo.
Oops! I thought I had posted these, but apparently I was wrong! That happens once or twice a year (me being wrong). Okay, it happens way more often, but I figured you would notice my shorter, square nails in these pictures!
2×4 from Eat. Sleep. Polish. is really a beautiful polish for this time of year. A creamy, delicious brown holo. I really like the undertone of this one… not too red/orange of a brown, so I think it will be flattering on all skintones!
I wanted to get these up since they are limited edition and won’t be around forever. Plus, they are just perfect for this time of year. Between Halloween and Autumn inspired manis, my oranges have been getting a real workout lately! Eat. Sleep. Polish. doesn’t disappoint with delivering a gorgeous orange for us to enjoy. Rusty Spoons is an orange holo with a bit of an orange sheen, and Salad Fingers is a coordinating glitter topper with “copper, sandy, caramel, matte peach, fuchsia, red and cranberry glitters of all shapes and sizes!” It sounds like a lot, but it works.
Last week, I showed off one of the new releases from Eat. Sleep. Polish.‘s Letters to a Porcupine collection… check out Soul One here. Today, I have Toes Across the Floor with an accent of Mouthful of Cavities. Both are tricky little polishes, that act shy in front of the camera! It was a bit difficult to capture their true complexity.
You may already know that around here, gold/nude holos are a favourite… so when I saw Bottle Service was being discontinued by I Love Nail Polish, I had to jump on it. Bottle Service is a champagne/silver holo, so it’s slightly different than my normal gold/nude, but it’s still within the range of absolutely gorgeous!
I love the champagne sheen when the light hits your nails, and the holo really sparkles in the sun. There’s just something about a neutral nail that just does it for me…. (the other kind is a vampy nail, but I digress). This is 2 coats of Bottle Service with top coat.
And, as if Bottle Service isn’t luxurious enough, why not add some diamonds to your life!? I used a nail vinyl from Eat Sleep Polish to spice it up. I wore it on my ring finger obviously, but you could play it up any way you like. While they are super easy to apply, the thin lines of the diamond make it delicate, so be patient and work with care… not like I did, which ended with the first diamond being removed from my nail in frustration. My second application, I tried to be more zen and it worked out much better.
Find I Love Nail Polish here (sadly, no more Bottle Service, but there is a beauty coming out for Fall called Iconic that you might want to check out)… and the vinyls from Eat Sleep Polish over here. And I must know, what kind of nail colour just does it for you!?
Last time, we were talking about discontinued polishes and today I’m featuring yet another one. Eat. Sleep. Polish. recently released a few new polishes and nail vinyls, and while I wait around for my package to arrive I thought it’d be fun to bust out one of my older untrieds from ESP.
This is Jugner Forest, a somewhat dusty green with scattered holo. I say dusty green because it’s not quite a strong, in your face green… it’s more of a subdued shade. I used two coats with topcoat. I’m having some issue with my topcoat bubbling… I’m not sure if it’s the heat, or the fan constantly blowing in here, but either way, it’s not the polish itself.
See what I mean by dusty? Maybe it’s not the best description but I think you get my point. Did you know it’s Friday today?! I sure didn’t… this whole time I thought it was Thursday! Surprise! Happy Friday!
