It’s no secret I love nude-gold holos, especially packed with shimmer, flakies, or just magic. Check out ILNP’s Bottle Service, Girly Bits’ Giggity Giggity Goo, Colors by Llarowe’s Tequila IV or my custom from Eat Sleep Polish called Elvis is My Homeboy! The best part is that those are just a portion of the nude-gold holos I have! But, nevermind! There’s always room for more, so when a lovely lady was selling Lilypad Lacquer’s Diamond in the Rough I decided I needed to have that one too.
And I am glad I made that decision! It’s gorgeous!
I haven’t tried Indie Polish before, but I know some people who are huge fans and always urged me to grab a few. Unfortunately, the polish budget isn’t an endless one (as much as I keep wishing), so even though Indie Polish was on my radar… it wasn’t on my nails. Until now!
Tanya (the maker behind Indie Polish) sent me a package with some of her new polishes to test out, so I’m lucky enough to share these with you today! When the package arrived, I was wearing a red polish (X ♥ Rouge) so I immediately reached for the gold glitter topcoat.
It’s been a while since Enchanted Polish had a true collection release. She’s been releasing monthly mystery polishes, and a few ‘Right Place, Right Time’ polishes over the summer. Then there were, of course, restocks of already existing colours. So, I was happy and excited when the new Go West collection was introduced back in August (cough, yes it has taken me this long to get around to posting this). The Go West collection is based on Kanye West songs, and included 4 new polishes. I grabbed them all with my ninja-like clicking skills and immediately gravitated towards Good Life when they arrived.
Enchanted Polish originally released Autumn in a limited (ha, what Enchanted restock isn’t limited?!) restock, which I sadly missed. Luckily for me, it was rereleased this Autumn, and this time around I was prepared. Once it finally showed up, I was in love. Autumn spends most of it’s life shifting between a bronzey-golden holo polish, but every now and then a pinky-purple side shows up, and she’s just gorgeous! To add a little more festive feel to my Autumn mani, I grabbed a new (also Limited Edition) polish from Eat. Sleep. Polish., a gorgeous glitter topcoat called Salad Fingers. Cat describes it as “copper, sandy, caramel, matte peach, fuchsia, red and cranberry glitters of all shapes and sizes!”
If you’re a fan of my Facebook page, you might have seen the recent swap package I received. If you’re not a fan of my Facebook page… you should just go ahead and click the like button! I was so happy to work out that swap, with a few polishes I’ve been lusting after for a while. Girly Bits’ Giggity Giggity Goo is one of them. It’s one of those gold-nude holos that I’m crazy about, with a bit of gold shimmer. Obviously, it’s inspired by Family Guy but did you know GB also has two other polishes inspired by Family Guy? Bird is the Word, and What the Deuce? are also in the collection… and on my wishlist!
I used two coats of Giggity Giggity Goo and I’m in loooove. The formula was beautiful and I never want to take the polish off!
See those beautiful golden shimmers all throughout? It’s not a straight holo and that makes me so happy! Do you have any of these polishes? Happy (long) weekend!!
I still have a few BlackLace Cosmetic swatches coming up, but I’ve also been receiving gifts from my birthday swap group and I’ve been itching to use them too! Life is hard when you’re a polish hoarder… haha.
This is one I received from my swap group, Emily de Molly’s Ricochet. Ricochet is hard to describe… is it khaki? is it olive? It’s somewhere in between, but it’s pretty. There’s a golden flash, and tonnes of holo goodness. I used 3 coats because it is a bit sheer, but the formula was great. Topcoat as usual.
I only own two other EdM polishes, but neither is a holo. I can see why people go so crazy over these! This is a seriously amazing and interesting polish. Happy Saturday!
Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians! I know the nail world is beginning to fill up with American-flag inspired manis, (which I love seeing!), but I had to rep for all us Canadians… since there are 10 times fewer of us, Canadian flag manis just don’t pop up as much.
I kept it fun and easy for myself this year. Cat from Eat. Sleep. Polish. was super smart and released little maple leaf vinyls to make it 10 billion* times easier to make cute manis. I grabbed those, OPI’s Big Apple Red, Eat. Sleep. Polish.’s Elvis is My Homeboy and Sephora by OPI’s The Golden Age.
*estimated number. Results may vary.
I used two coats of each Big Apple Red and Elvis, and one coat of the Golden Age to accent. The vinyls are super easy to use and I arranged them on my nail in a pattern using tweezers. I finished it all off with a coat of quick dry topcoat. All 3 polishes applied easily and look gorgeous.
What are you wearing for Canada Day? Or Independence Day for that matter. Leave a link below and I’ll check out your designs! Enjoy your holiday, ladies!
