For today’s Saturday Savings I pulled out a glitter topcoat that packs a punch. Celebrate Sequins has square, hex and little holographic glitters in a clear base. I used one coat of it over yesterday’s mani, OPI’s Louvre Me, Louvre Me Not.
One coat! Look how much glitter is packed into this badboy! Lovely.
It’s so glittery! It is a little chunky, so a generous coat of topcoat will be necessary to smooth it out! 🙂 Happy Saturday!
Happy Saturday! I can’t believe tomorrow will be officially June!
Today I have this pretty shimmery lilac purple that has a blue flash. It’s really gorgeous. I thought it was going to be sheer like OPI’s Significant Other Color because they have the same sort of feel, but Tantalize Me only needed two coats. I used a topcoat as usual. The formula was really nice and I had no problems with it.
I think this one is a pretty spring or early summer polish! During the hotter summer months I tend to wear brighter polish colours.
I like the blue flash that keeps it interesting! What are you wearing today?
The sun is shining and it’s finally warming up here, so it’s high time to bust out some summery colours and neons! Excellent. China Glaze’s Towel Boy Toy is a bright blue neon with a bit of shimmer that is just absolutely gorgeous. It is slightly sheer, so I actually used 4 coats to achieve this opacity, but the formula is very nice so it wasn’t an issue. Being a neon, it does dry matte so I used a topcoat to make it really shiny.
I was lucky enough to receive this one from a lovely lady I know through a Facebook beauty group (Hi, Rebecca! ❤ ), after the one I swapped for disappeared in the mail.
What do you think of this lovely? You can grab it on Nail Polish Canada. Now if only getting a real towel boy toy was just as easy!
Here in Canada we have a long weekend to celebrate Queen Victoria’s birthday… this is also known as ‘the May 2-4’ weekend, aka the unofficial start of patio season, and any other summer related fun! Problem is, today is cold, cold, cold. We spent some time on our balcony today getting our container garden ready for planting, (we have a huge balcony). Usually we grow some tomatoes, peppers, beans and herbs. I can’t wait for deliciousness to grow!
That’s why I’m a little behind the times today. At any rate, here’s Revlon’s Gold Get ‘Em. A pretty, shimmery gold. It is pretty sheer so I used three coats. Even with that, you can still see the visible nail line. Ah, well. The formula is quite nice. With these Revlon polishes, I don’t get the longest wear out of them, so be aware. I use a good topcoat to try and extend the wear.
What do you think? I think it’s pretty, but slightly too yellow of a gold for me! Happy Polishing!
I know a few of my Saturday Savings posts have featured these Sally Hansen Hard As Nails Xtreme Wear polishes, but they are really great. For about $3-4 you get a wide variety of colours, finishes and always a great formula.
Today’s choice is Red Carpet, a jelly red with lots of red glitter. I used 2 coats plus a topcoat here. This is a great dupe for China Glaze’s Ruby Pumps. Unfortunately, I recently swapped away my Ruby Pumps so I can’t do a comparison for you! Ooops.
So let’s see if you agree with me…
I think it’s really pretty. A classic red, with a glittery twist! Enjoy your weekend, and Happy Mother’s Day to all you mothers out there! ❤
Did you know Forever 21 has nail polish? I didn’t either, until recently when a friend sent me this polish. I guess it makes sense, though. I’ve seen polish, glosses and other little beauty impulse purchases popping up in all kinds of clothing stores! Love & Beauty retails for under $4, so it’s easy to grab one while waiting in line to cash out.
This colour is called Unique… but to me, it’s not that unique! I guess the polish-namers at F21 haven’t seen indie polishes! It has a slight red/orange duochrome with pink glitter. The formula is not horrible, but not the best either. It applied easily, but dried very gritty and dull, which is very surprising considering there isn’t that much glitter in it! I only expect glitterbombs to dry gritty.
Anyway, for under $4 it’s not a bad polish overall. But you will definitely need a topcoat. I use two coats of polish, and one of topcoat.
What do you think of Love & Beauty? I have to say, I probably won’t be hunting any of these down anytime soon, but I’ve heard they can go on big discount from time to time… so I might be tempted if I was in F21 and saw them marked down.
Today I have an easy ‘Easter’ mani for those of us who are not artistically gifted. I have seen so many beautifully painted, stamped, striped and dotted Easter manis floating around the nail polish world… however, I am am not talented in the nail art arena. So, I’ve created this simple Easter-inspired mani.
I grabbed two of my Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear polishes – Blue Me Away, and Mellow Yellow. Blue Me Away has a great formula, and only needed 2 coats for coverage. Mellow Yellow was decent – I’m sure we all know how finicky yelllow polishes (especially cremes and pastels) can be. I used three coats and it looks pretty good.
If you do have a smidge of nail art talent, you could go ahead and add dots, stripes or even an Easter egg design on one or all of the nails! 🙂 Happy Easter, and I hope the bunny is good to you!
